First Visit Prep Kit

Three pieces that make a first visit feel familiar: a what-to-bring checklist for parents, a picture story to read with the child, and an About My Child sheet that tells the team what helps. Built for every child, and especially helpful for children with autism, anxiety, or sensory needs.

2. My Visit to Alpine: A Picture Story

Read it together a few days before the visit, and again in the car.

  1. Alpine team members chatting in the bright lobby

First, my grown-up and I check in. The office is bright and friendly.

  2. Young girl smiling at a dental assistant beside the dental chair

A helper shows me the big chair. It moves up and down like a ride.

  3. Relaxed girl sitting in the dental chair

I sit back and open wide. The helper counts my teeth and tells me each step.

  4. Boy pointing at his dental X-ray on the screen

I can see pictures of my teeth on the screen. Dr. Warren tells me about them.

  5. Alpine team member holding a handful of colorful prize toys

When I am all done, I pick a prize. I did it!

3. About My Child

Fill in what helps, then print this page and hand it to the front desk. Blank lines print as space to write by hand.

Sources and How This Tool Works

The checklist reflects what Alpine Pediatric Dentistry asks families to bring (insurance card and a parent photo ID). The picture story uses photos taken inside the Alpine office in Lincolnton. The About My Child sheet follows the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's 2026 guidance that dental teams learn a child's sensitivities, triggers, soothing strategies, and routines before care. Nothing typed here is sent anywhere; it prints from this device and is saved only when Remember is ticked.

General information for parents, not a diagnosis or a substitute for a dental exam. For a child with tooth pain, swelling, or an injury, call Alpine Pediatric Dentistry at (704) 479-6777. In an emergency, call 911.
